The Power of Visibility

For International Women's Day, EngageRM shared the stories of three of its own colleagues working in STEM, reflecting on this year's theme of technology and innovation for gender equality.

Pre-Sales Engineer Genna Bonifant said she's proud to work in a male-dominated field precisely because it shows others what's possible; Analyst Namira Adani spoke about the impact of seeing other women in leadership early in her career, and wanting to provide that same visibility for others; and Dynamics 365 Technical Consultant Demi Brauer credited her mother, who worked in a male-dominated industry herself, with making a career in IT feel unremarkable rather than exceptional.

Women's continued underrepresentation in tech carries a real cost — by some estimates, exclusion from the digital economy has already cost low- and middle-income countries $1 trillion in GDP over the past decade. Representation, as these three stories show, is a meaningful part of closing that gap.
