As the average age of sports viewers climbs, franchises are looking for new ways to build connections with younger fans. EngageRM's Community Portal is one answer — as shown by the NBA's LA Clippers and their "Kids Club."

How it works

"We deployed our online sign-up functionality that allows children to receive engaging messages via their parent or guardian's email address," said EngageRM Senior Consultant Jonathon De Conno.

Parent and child records are automatically linked in the CRM at sign-up, letting the Clippers send personalised messages — like a birthday greeting from a child's favourite player — with minimal ongoing manual effort.

Built to scale

Clippers Product Manager Karl Gusner noted the same system can support ticket, sponsorship or merchandise offers tied to the franchise's existing inventory, pulling in valuable data from fans of every age with plenty of room to expand further.
